Kentucky Law regarding reporting

State law requires that anyone who knows or has reasonable cause to believe that a child is dependent, abused, or neglected is required to make a report to the Cabinet for Health and Family Services or law enforcement. (KRS 620.030 (1)) KRS states an intentional failure to report is a criminal act. (KRS 620.030 (6))

The statute also states: “No professional client or patient privilege, except the attorney-client and clergy-penitent privilege, shall be a ground for refusing to report under this section.”
